Illustration and evidence have different jobs
Our botanical illustration shows rice panicles, leaves and flooded field bands. It gives the reading edition a visual identity. It is not a photograph of a HerbaRice trial, an experimental outcome or a particular cultivar.
The diagrams in individual notes organise concepts and source relationships. Their labels describe the argument on the page. Evidence for scientific outcomes remains in the cited research records, not in the attractiveness of an illustration.
The former image gallery
The historical gallery address is retained. Original project photographs have not been republished without established reuse rights. Historical attribution is preserved through the project and publication references, while current artwork belongs to this independent edition.
